India remains cautious about launch of new trade round

MEXICO CITY, Mexico - Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Mulasoli Maran (L) and Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Takeo Hiranuma pose for photographers before their talks in Mexico City on Aug. 31. Maran told Hiranuma India will oppose the proposed launch of a new round of global trade talks in November unless measures are taken to ease conditions on the commitments made by developing countries under the 1994 trade pact resulting from the previous round.
